Just got it. Haven't played it much, but it's fun. Lot's of old favorites and new surprises. The steering controls are very nice, just take some getting used to.

The steering wheel peripheral is built solidly and has a button built in on the back to easily press the B button for power sliding. The controls are simple, and motion sensing is integrated well into the gameplay.

If you don't like the idea of steering, you can use the classic controller or a gamecube controller, just like SSBB.

I haven't tried online play yet, so that's the only thing I don't know about.

OMG! I love Mario Kart! I get very competitive in this game. It's scary. I get pissed when I come in 3rd place. 2nd place, I'm a bit miffed.
I've made it a goal of mine to have perfect scores all across the board.

My only real complaint about the game is the elimination of character specific special weaopns and the fact that so many items in this game cause you to lose your stored item when hit (lightning bolt, if you get smushed, blue shell, pow block, star, and maybe a couple others I'm forgetting.

The team thing doesn't bother me, as I found it confusing and complicated a game I enjoy for it's simplicity. It wasn't terrible, but I'm probably happier without it. Also, trying to do that and steer would be way too hard imo.

Although, when I'm playing for keeps, I use the wiimote and nunchuck controllers. You have to in order to be good enough to unlock some of the stuff.
