Yes, women can be color blind but only if they have the color blind gene in both of their x chromosomes, it is easier, therefore that men can become color blind because they only have one x chromosome to manipulate. For example, a woman can have the color blind allele on one chromosome but on the other x they have normal eyesight. Normal eyesight is dominant, therefore takes over. Men on the other have either normal eyesight or color blind allele.

I know my boyfriend gets all upset when he can't distinguish colors because he wants to be a Game Developer. Of course he couldn't distinguish red from red orange in dim lighting so I'm not to worried.
