So, the commercials about this 2-ounce shot are all over TV (at least, in Canada). They're very proud of the fact that they don't have 12 tablespoons of sugar, or 200 calories (trumpeting instead their ZERO sugar and 4 calories); but what are they not telling you?
The 5-hour Energy Shot has several other ingredients in horrific quantities (per can, not serving).
- 8,333% of your daily allowance of B12
- 1,600% of your daily allowance of B6
- As much caffeine as a full cup of coffee
- Most efficient when taken on an empty stomach
- Common side-effect is reduced appetite (taken on an empty stomach makes it even worse for you)
So, it's not quite as healthy compared to other energy drinks, is it?
