I felt like this for a few years and I finally decided to write about it. See what you think of Only A Dream.
Sleeping like a baby
Easy to wake
The child is asleep in her crib
Even the littlest noise wakes the child
She cries
Mother is no where near by
She cries even louder
Still no mommy
A neighbor hears her cries
He opens the door
Sees her face full of tears
He takes her in his arms
The girl settles down
The neighbor notices the father
Fallen into a drunken sleep
The cops come to take the child
Now she lives in a foster home
No longer are her tears unheard
She doesn't cry much anymore
Her new parents come to her
Everytime she cries
The old parents are now in jail
Charged with neglect
The baby girl is safe now
Sleeping like a baby
Very easy to wake
wakes to an opening door
She begins to cry
... It was only a dream.
