Not only is it not written by God, but it's also been manhandled, altered, and mistranslated so much that it's doubtful that any of it's current surface value holds any meaning to any supposed divinly inspired intent it may have.

I couldn't agree more with Brother of Yeshua. I'm a firm believer of finding out what the truth is. I have my beliefs in God but, at the same time, I can't get the thought out of my head that whoever was chosen to translate his words into text that somehow people would understand, may as well have corrupted the Bible in a way to "manipulate the people and usurp their freedom from them."
I being have read the Bible (not all of it of course), I notice that there are a number of contradictions in the text. If God is indeed all-loving and everyone under him, regardless of race or colour or what have you, are his children, then why is there suffering amongst the masses? Why, in other communities, do people have other advantages that people in Harlem, in Bushwick, in East New York, in Ohio and every other community that the government somehow forgets about, don't have? And those are just two of the questions that I have with regards to the text in the Bible.
I am to the point that I dare say that the Bible is a corruption of the lord's word. Not a translation. This isn't him. And if one day someone dies find out that someone did screw up, then who is he really?
This is why I don't hold judgment against against agnostics or atheists. They may just be on to something. However, my faith is in him. Words are cheap. Actions will allow him to prove himself. And for the people who corrupt his word, who bend his word to their satisfaction to control the classes, to separate the races, to cause pain, suffering and strife in the world, they'll get their just desserts.
