That makes it sound like we've got a psyco running the country willing to do anything neccessary to prevent himself from going down in history as the worst president the US has ever seen, that makes me really uncomfortable.
No. I don't think that's accurate.
Quote:
So would you let each state decide how to handle things like that?
That's usually where I fall, but usually opt for no govt. intervention at all.

I heavily considered joining the military, I scored high on the ASVAB, there's no way in hell I'd go fight this war if I got drafted. Not at all because I'm scared, there are a few things I would pick up a rifle and defend to the death, but that sure as hell isn't one of them.
It's too basic of a question I think. I'm sure some people it would depend on the conflict.

OK, isn't that what the CIA is for, isn't that why we spend billions of taxpayers dollars on? What is this organization for if all it's doing is eating up money and not producing any results? 7 years is by far enough time to track one man and if not capture him, most definitely kill him
How do you know?

Quote:
Air strike, sniper...you name it, the US military COULD get it done if they wanted to.
Again. How do you know?

Quote:
You would sue the federal government of the United States? Is that a joke?
No. I'd take it to court. It's not a joke. I would take them to court.

Quote:
It's a simple question, they say "take this, or you're on your own, and you can't live here, because we own the land" in a roundabout way. Would you take it and abide by their 'laws' or would you refuse it and try to survive elsewhere?
They don't own the land I live on. They don't own me. I think I'd have to take them to court on that one too.

Well summarize it, I don't want an essay.
Lack of responsibility and accountability is the problem with the education system, along with unions that are far too powerful. It's a system that defends incompetence, and refuses to reward excellence.

Is it good, bad? Do you feel comfortable knowing what you know now (not what you think) about the healthcare system, enough that if you got really sick, or really badly injured, you or your parents or whoever had enough money to cover the costs that it would take to make you healthy again? Do you think you could pay for everything and still maintain the life you do now?
Well, there's always the possibility of something catastrophic happening.

Quote:
As do many Americans, yet again, we see billions of taxpayers dollars going towards it. Why don't we fix this problem?
Probably not enough political pressure I think. Most people are against it, but they aren't THAT against it if you catch my drift. They don't really care I suppose. It's not a big issue.

Terrible response, you have to have an opinion about this guy, youtube him and then respond if you havn't seen him speak.
I'm aware of Alberto Gonzalez.

Quote:
I remember asking you in another thread if it bothers you when they lie outright like that, and you said something like 'all politicians lie' which somehow makes it ok for him
I don't remember that specific post. But I don't think I tried to excuse lying by pointing to more lying. And I don't think I tried to excuse it at all. If I did...I dunno what I was thinking. I recall a "Do you find it odd" question, to which I answered "No, I don't find it odd"

He has a pretty high position in the administration, he's not just a 'seat filler'
He pretty much is. He'll be completely unable to get anything meaningful done. He's a seat filler there to ride out the last days of this administration.

Both of these guys were appointed by president Bush himself...agian, more coincidences.
How is this a coincidence?

Quote:
Waterboarding is torture, dozens of nations all over the world classify it as torture, even Canada has classified it as torture. Do you really think that's all they do when they're waterboarding someone?
They simulate drowning.
Quote:
We've all seen what happened at Abu Graib, so imagine what an 'interrogator' would do to a person suspected of terrorist activities in a US controlled prison cell...do you really think he would just be dousing him with water and asking him questions?
Do you really think the rogue nature of Abu Ghiraib prison is comparable to the operations we have in places like Gitmo?

Quote:
How is it awesome?
I dunno. I didn't know how to answer that question.

Quote:
Why don't you think it's going to happen?
I don't think it's going to happen. I've seen no evidence of an approaching north american union.

Quote:
Did you happen to notice our country is on the verge of economic collapse?
No.
Quote:
So most of the Iraqi people think their lives would be better off without the 'protection' of the US soldiers, and you don't have an opinion?
Not about what they think. Not about the polls. No. I don't.
Quote:
Kinda like in Germany when the jewish people started telling their non-jewish friends the terrible things that were happening to them...but they just didn't have an opinion, we know how that one turned out
No. Not like that at all.
Quote:
Dude, there is a big difference between being 'ballsy' and STUPID. 1 0 0 years in Iraq? Is he fucking kidding me? When was the last time there was a 100 year war? That guy is more insane than George W. Bush, and he proved it with that statement.
He was trying to emphasize the "we'll stay their til the job is done" point, he was exaggerating. From most reports, we won't have to stay there all that long. We're already beginning stages of phasing out troops, and turning over provinces to the Iraquis.
Quote:
Financing people like Osama Bin Laden.
They never financed OBL. He was part of a separate group than the one we financed.

Quote:
Not entirely sure why you're calling him out on his answers...he did just do the questionnaire.
eh. I figured the questions would lead to more questions, etc. That's why I made my questionnaire a bit more vague.

Thanks for the answers static. Good stuff. If you're majoring in political science, be prepared to deal with a TON of douche bags. Both the students and professors.
