Yet to be seen. It all really hinges on Iraq.
|
That makes it sound like we've got a psyco running the country willing to do anything neccessary to prevent himself from going down in history as the worst president the US has ever seen, that makes me really uncomfortable.

You'd have to get more specific. As a basic rule, I'd be apt to say no.
|
So would you let each state decide how to handle things like that?

Probably. I heavily considered joining the military. Scored high on the ASVAB and whatnot.

I heavily considered joining the military, I scored high on the ASVAB, there's no way in hell I'd go fight this war if I got drafted. Not at all because I'm scared, there are a few things I would pick up a rifle and defend to the death, but that sure as hell isn't one of them.

I don't know. Haven't found him I suppose.

OK, isn't that what the CIA is for, isn't that why we spend billions of taxpayers dollars on? What is this organization for if all it's doing is eating up money and not producing any results? 7 years is by far enough time to track one man and if not capture him, most definitely kill him. Air strike, sniper...you name it, the US military COULD get it done if they wanted to.

If they had guns..not a whole lot I could do. But after they left I'd sue.
|
You would sue the federal government of the United States? Is that a joke?
It's a simple question, they say "take this, or you're on your own, and you can't live here, because we own the land" in a roundabout way. Would you take it and abide by their 'laws' or would you refuse it and try to survive elsewhere?

Christ, could write an essay on this.
|
Well summarize it, I don't want an essay.
Is it good, bad? Do you feel comfortable knowing what you know now (not what you think) about the healthcare system, enough that if you got really sick, or really badly injured, you or your parents or whoever had enough money to cover the costs that it would take to make you healthy again? Do you think you could pay for everything and still maintain the life you do now?
Quote:

I see it as a waste of money, and resources.
|
As do many Americans, yet again, we see billions of taxpayers dollars going towards it. Why don't we fix this problem?
Terrible response, you have to have an opinion about this guy, youtube him and then respond if you havn't seen him speak. One of the biggest liars I've ever seen. The reason I brought him up was because when he speaks, you can CLEARLY see he is lying, anybody can, and I remember asking you in another thread if it bothers you when they lie outright like that, and you said something like 'all politicians lie' which somehow makes it ok for him, the top attorney in the US, to lie to the country, to the people, and to you.

Again. Not much. He's more of a seat filler anyhow.
|
He has a pretty high position in the administration, he's not just a 'seat filler'. I brought him up for the same reason as Gonzales, BLATANT public liar, obvious even, and he's given 4 different responses to what waterboarding actually is. Both of these guys were appointed by president Bush himself...agian, more coincidences. That can't just be bad judgment on his part.

I'm not sure of how effective it is in getting the answers you'd want. And I'm not sure if I'd classify it as torture.
|
Waterboarding is torture, dozens of nations all over the world classify it as torture, even Canada has classified it as torture. Do you really think that's all they do when they're waterboarding someone? They make it seem like it's nothing in the media, but if there's nobody around to stop it, things get out of control. We've all seen what happened at Abu Graib, so imagine what an 'interrogator' would do to a person suspected of terrorist activities in a US controlled prison cell...do you really think he would just be dousing him with water and asking him questions? Of course not, there would be mass ass kickings having been had by the US soldier(s) doing the enterrogating, I guarantee it. And that doesn't amount to credible intel, that amounts to more US soldiers being killed in a combat mission they should have never been on because this one guy in this one cell said something that wasn't true to stop the abuse.
How is it awesome?

I dunno. I'm going to ASU in the fall....it gets cold up in Northern Arizona. Oh...the north american union. How silly of me. I don't think it's going to happen.
|
Why don't you think it's going to happen? Have you seen the Amero? Have you seen the new Union flag? What more perfect way to usher in the NAU than another great depression? Did you happen to notice our country is on the verge of economic collapse? I think you should take things like this a little more seriously...
So most of the Iraqi people think their lives would be better off without the 'protection' of the US soldiers, and you don't have an opinion? Kinda like in Germany when the jewish people started telling their non-jewish friends the terrible things that were happening to them...but they just didn't have an opinion, we know how that one turned out...

I think it's infeasible, but I think it's ballsy. Definitely not what the mainstream media wants to hear. He put his political career on the line to support the surge. I gotta respect him for that.
|
Dude, there is a big difference between being 'ballsy' and STUPID. 1 0 0 years in Iraq? Is he fucking kidding me? When was the last time there was a 100 year war? That guy is more insane than George W. Bush, and he proved it with that statement.
