Well actually I never really had a thing for religion, my mom brought me to church and I thought the church was a nice place to hang and that the ceiling was kinda mystical for an unexplicable reason, but that was about as far deep as religion got for me. I was defending the beliefs of others, perhaps more psycopathic than me but still entitled to an opinion that should not be shunned, regardless of what may be true or not, just the simple idea of a person's right to their own thoughts. I can certainly better understand this man from the stand point that it is a reaction to bible belt people acting as though the bible has superiority over science textbooks, models, and theorys, in the field of science and history. I do feel that god exists, he exists though for some and not for others. A person must make their own god/gods and understand that other people will not necassarily understand their god/gods. When and if god exists, he exists in the hearts and minds of people, not as an actual presence or being as some people might have you think. In this way, god is very personal and is mainly a reflection of yourself. Here's a question that I heard that hopfully can explain the inexplicability of god. Do you love you parents? If so, prove it. See, this can not be entirely answered, or answered correctly. There are somethings that at this point in time are simply beyond our knowledege. I am not saying these things are god. I have already said that god exists in the hearts/minds of people, not actuallity as reallity to everyone. God can only exist in the reality of one person at a time. If that person believes in God, god will appear to that person and no one else. If another person believes in god, then their god will appear to them and no one else. People may have similar gods, but I think that each person's god is unique because each person is unique. God does not exist in reality but perception, and to the human mind, perception can be more important than reality itself. This is what causes all this religious debate, god is not the same for each person, and therefore causes them each to believe that they are right and the other is wrong. To them, they're perception is reality, and since the realities of these people don't match, they argue, fight, and battle because they believe that they're reality is reality when in fact it is not. Well, that's my thoughts on it anyway.
